How to copy a conditional formatting rule in Excel? It's now possible when you work with Excel 365.

Option available only for Excel 365

The advantage of working with Excel 365 is that updates arrive faster and periodically (about every 6 months).

Since the end of 2021, a long-awaited novelty has been added; Copy a conditional formatting rule.

This saves a lot of time for creating custom conditional formatting rules.

Before the update of Excel 365

Previously, the conditional formatting rules management menu had only three options

  • New rule
  • Edit Rule
  • Delete Rule

New duplicate rule button

But now, a fourth button has been added to the Rules Manager dialog box.

Button to duplicate a conditional formatting

And when you click on it, the selected rule is duplicated 😀👍
